Frequently Asked

How does payment work?

For project work: 50% deposit at contract signing, 50% upon launch. We accept Stripe, PayPal, and bank transfer. Larger projects can split into thirds (33/33/34) on request. Network memberships are billed monthly via Ko-fi or Stripe.

Who owns the website?

You do — always. Once paid in full, you receive full ownership of source files, GitHub repository, and access to all hosting accounts. You can take your site anywhere, anytime. No hostage situations.

What if I need changes after launch?

Every project includes a post-launch support window for bug fixes and small adjustments (length depends on tier). After that, content changes are billed at $50/hour or covered by a Soma Network membership.

How long do projects take?

Timelines start once we receive your signed contract, deposit, and content materials. The Seed: 5–7 days. The Sprout: 10–14 days. The Branch: 3–4 weeks. The Tree: 4–8 weeks depending on scope.

Can I switch between Network tiers?

Anytime. Upgrades take effect immediately. Downgrades take effect at the start of your next billing cycle. No fees, no friction. Cancellations require 30 days notice.

Do you only work with Black-owned businesses?

Supporting Black-owned small businesses is the heart of Soma Industries — but the studio is open to anyone whose project aligns with our values: integrity, community impact, and quality work.
